Please Pray for Baby Stellan!!

It seems that Baby Stellan has had a bit of setback and is currently in the PICU. Please, please, please add this little boy to your prayer list. He has come so far since his original diagnosis of premature heart failure in the womb. He is a fighter and I know God will watch over this little one! My prayers are with MckMama and her MckFamily!

Not Me! Monday

Mondays...my favorite blogging day of the week thanks to MckMama! Her blog is fantastic and I am so thankful that baby Stellan is ok after his scare over the holiday!

I did not spend two days straight icing my arm and massaging it with tiger balm because of a Wii injury. It is absolutely ridiculous that I would be that sore from playing a video game! Not this in shape hottie!

I did not blog stalk while having some time off because I too was way too busy enjoying the holiday to worry about my, or other's blogs.

I did not show up Christmas morning without gifts for my niece and nephews because I am way more together than that!

I was not one of those crazed shoppers who bought up tons of Christmas wrapping goodies because they were 50% off the day after Christmas. Just because Hallmark gift bags w/ tissue paper were $1...$1!!!...does not mean I needed 25 of them. That would be insane.

I did not drink a jumbo Petrone margarita on the rocks with my hubby before hitting a pig pickin. I would never show up at a get together ready for a nap.

I did not forgo my morning Fiber One bar for a tin of Christmas cookies instead. I would definitely not give up my nutritious breakfast for empty calories. Nope, not me!

I did not regift at the greedy gift exchange this weekend. I would never miss an opportunity to pick out tacky gifts that nobody wants.

I did not wear all black to our friend's wedding. I would NEVER show up at such a joyous event looking like I was ready for a funeral.

I did not pass out on my friend's couch after our dinner party because I was so exhausted from the week. I am not an antisocial guest!

I absolutely took a shower yesterday and did not go to the grocery store in worn jeans and my hubby's sweatshirt. I am WAY too together for that!

Life as a Rock Star

Hubby has a show tonight. Looking forward to it but am definitely gonna have to take a nap beforehand. Didn't get back from yesterday's roadtrip with dad til after midnight. I'm getting too old for all these late nights when I have to work the next day!

Had a bit of an anxiety attack today when I checked out our calendar for the next few weeks. There is not a free day for the both of us until January 3rd and then that is the only free day again until January 17th. Oh. My.

Not Me! Monday

I can't believe it's "Not Me! Monday" again! Yeehaw, that means I've been blogging for a week!!! Go check out MckMama's blog when you have a chance. If you've been following her recent "Rebel with a Cause" raffle you must be as blown away as I am with how much money has been raised for three awesome charities: The ELISON project, String of Pearls, and No Hands But Ours!! Way to go MckMama and all the loyal MckMama readers!

I did not torture my cat yesterday by giving her a bath since cats hate water!

I did not buy kid's underwear for the foster family I'm sponsoring even though they requested it because giving underwear to a stranger is just weird. I am not weird, I promise.

I did not take leftovers from last night's Christmas party because I don't feel like cooking dinner tonight. Not me, that would be tacky!

I did not tell everyone I parked my new truck across the parking lot because the weather was nice and I wanted to walk when in actuality I want to go at least a week before some non-parking fool hit my truck.

STRESSED.

This cartoon does not do the butterflies in my stomach justice, but it does make me chuckle a bit. I think it might be a "cake for lunch" kind of day.

Not sure why I have been so nervous this week. Perhaps it's the vibe of my surroundings. Maybe the constant news of our stressed economy, the pressure at work, the upcoming holidays, and winter are just turning my outlook a little bleak. I'm not sure, but whatever it is, needs to work itself out soon!

It's Only Wednesday?!

The past few days have been a bit...well, eh. Haven't been feeling 100% like myself, but I'm starting to come back around. Hopefully after some rest this weekend things will be back on track.

Had my girls over Monday night for the annual "Grand Illumination!" of our front yard. Was bummed to find out that 1/2 my lights from last year were now duds. My front bush is looking a little pathetic. I'll have to get out there this weekend and spruce it up a bit. Experimented with making two soups to share: slow cooker beef vegetable (pretty good, a definite repeat), and asian chicken and noodle (just ok, not a definite repeat). Throw in some spiked apple cider and a screening of A Charlie Brown Christmas though and we warmed right up!

Speaking of A Charlie Brown Christmas, have you ever seen it? I'm usually more of a Grinch fan but I found Charlie Brown pretty entertaining. Adult humor in cartoons always cracks me up!

My first "Not Me! Monday" post!! This weekly blog carnival is hosted by MckMama over at My Charming Kids. Her blog is so addicting with her cute stories, cute as pie kiddos, and great photographs...addicting in a not so weird and crazy way. =)

I so did not leave my friend's football party last night in the last quarter because I was so fed up with the Steeler's only to find out this morning that they actually won!! Oh the frustration!

I did not postpone making chicken soup for my sick MIL until today even though it was promised to her on Saturday. I am so not a bad DIL!

I did not REFUSE to drive the new 4runner my hubby and I picked up yesterday until it had a full detail. We so did not buy a truck that was kept a disgusting mess by the previous owners. Nope, not us!

I did not spend my whole morning snazzing up my blog. I am way too busy at work to be messing around on anything but what's due for my 2:00 deadline!

I absolutely did not kick my favorite kitty off the bed last night so I could stretch out some more. All of our animals are treated like royality and I would never make them sleep anywhere other than where they choose. So not my style!!

Holiday Junk

Spent the entire day running errands with the hubby. We had a pretty nice time and I only say it was pretty nice because we had to fight the holiday crowds. In hindsight I should probably be grateful people are buying stuff although it is a bit frustrating to think about the amount of debt people get themselves into over the holidays. So much of the stuff is just junk... like the 7' ferris wheel for the front yard... $249! I have visions of someone swiping their credit card for this insane purchase probably for a front yard of a home that's in foreclosure. Had a light sushi lunch at a new place we learned about this week. Was pretty good but I think our local spot is still the best.

Pork ribs were B1G1F at the grocery store this week. We are cooking one rack to take with us to our good friends house - 1/2 bbq and 1/2 asian sesame. Not sure how they will turn out but they smell wonderful. It's our first foray into the world of cooking ribs and my fingers are crossed!

Warm Days in December

The high is 60 degrees today...that makes me smile! =) I need the pick me up cause I'm feeling a little down about my vehicle situation. The towing company is coming to pick up the Camry today which is bittersweet. I'm going to end up with a 4runner which I've dreamed about since I was a little kid, but it's sad to see the Camry all beat up with its twisted metal and such. I just need to remind myself that it's better that the car is the shape it's in because it protected me!

Sushi and comedy club tonight for our good friend's birthday! We're seeing Ron Morey. Ever heard of him? I got a chuckle because he said his favorite charity work was buying lots of beer for starving college students. Looking forward to it!

Speaking of charity work...my husband and I decided to forgo Christmas presents to each other this year and find a needy family to help out instead. I have spent HOURS trying to find a website that connects people this way, or an organization that could use some help in a service way. I can't believe I am having so much trouble. I know there are folks out there who could use the help. In addition to helping the family for the holidays, I really want to find a project that I can contribute my time to...at least monthly. I know monetary donations are nice, but I can't help but feel the service aspect of things would be more meaningful to all involved.
